To our knowledge solar air heaters appeared in the 1970's.

During the 1980's an Australian company developed a solar heating air system and commercialised the product. However this system experienced a number of problems and so was withdrawn from the market.

In 1997, Ron Knight, an electrical contractor living in Cooma NSW, was called to repair a solar system for a friend. That experience initiated his interest in solar heating systems and resulted in the founding of Ecoheat. Over a period of 10 years and after many trials and modifications he overcame problems previously experienced.

The Ecoheat system is now a successful product operating in Australia.

Ecoheat Sales Pty Ltd is a wholly owned Australian company and Ecoheat systems are manufactured in Australia.
